LIVI parquet – an original flooring collection for each of our customers. Engineering boards are available in different widths up to 400mm and lengths of up to 8m, allows you to create unique flooring that you will not see anywhere else.
If you will own the engineered wood flooring, we believe that only a professional will separate them from the floor of the array. The main difference between the engineered wood board and the array floor is its structure. Array board is cut from the total solid wood array, and engineered wood board as well as parquet, consists of a number of layers firmly glued together.
The history of creation
Engineered parquet was created in the middle of the last century. The set goal for the manufacturers was to reduce the use of precious woods (forest cutting volumes), and lead to greater stability of the finished product. Due to that, 4-6mm layer boards production began using basic types of wood (oak, beech, ash and other exotic species), and for the base they used less expensive wood (pine, spruce, birch, etc.) or multi-layered plywood. In this way, they were able to produce an engineered board, which was resistant to climate changes, and which can be almost any desired and of very precise dimensions (oiled or lacquered). During the development of these technologies fillister-carved lock has become popular.
Wood lamella – an external engineered board layer is made from hardwood species of precious wood having a thickness from 8 to 10mm. Parquet boards on the market today has only the top layer of up to 4mm in thickness. The upper layer thickness of our engineered boards is 2-2,5 times higher than those of other manufacturers in the proposed production. This layer ensures the durability of the floor covering and creates a surface pattern uniqueness and elegance.
When choosing parquet boards one needs to take into account that an important practicality for the floor is the upper flooring board layer thickness.
7-10mm thick parquet
This board’s thickness of the upper layer (oak, ash, maple) is ranging from 0,5 to 2,5mm. In this case, additional polishing is not possible. You can only change the floorboard itself.
15-18mm thick parquet
Top parquet dimensions. Upper layer thickness is of up to 4mm. These floors can be polished several times.
18-22mm thick parquet
Upper layer thickness ranges from 6mm. Recommended for laying in residential and public premises (e.g. offices that employ a lot of people). Parquet retains up to 5 polishes.
30-32mm thick parquet
The upper layer (oak, ash, maple) – 8mm and more. Such boards extremely durable. Can be polished a lot of times. With the correct use of such floors, you can enjoy it for many generations to come.
Such a top layer thickness allows to use much softer wood species growing in Lithuania – such as birch, linden, alder, elm, etc., which gives designers more freedom when choosing materials to implement their ideas.
The upper layer of LIVI parquet is made from one continuous lamella, precious and hard type of wood.
For highlighting the aesthetic qualities multiple boards processing methods are used:
– Planing with waves
– and other processing methods for implementation of design ideas.
In the final stage – the surface is lacquered or oiled as well as the surface can be tinted.
Engineered LIVI parquet board’s basis – a three-layer pine wood panel – with very narrow lamellas (20-40mm) glued 6-8 lamellas together by the row and width. Then, when wide lamellas are made, they are glued to each other in length.
Wood bonding in this way makes the structure very robust, stable and reliable.
Throughout the whole engineered board’s perimeter fillister-carved joints are made (fillister-spigot, carved-paz), fillister (1,5-2mm, sometimes longer – 7mm), by joining the parquet, comprises a layer that wears-off as well as the fillister-carved joints, when laying floors, are sealed with silicone. This ensures a high parquet humidity resistance.
When laying the floor, joints are glued and the boards themselves are firmly nailed. Silicone provides additional joints’ waterproofing. A strong fixation with glue and silicone prevents cracking and makes the floor virtually resistant to water.
All these positive characteristics make them very strong, provides wear resistance, increases resistance to temperature and humidity changes and resistance to impact and abrasion influence.
LIVI parquet engineered board – environmentally clean production, since in production only natural wood and water-based glue are used. Walking on the floor of this type is a true pleasure. Without fear one can allow young children to play on the floor, without the fear of that their feet will get cold. Engineered, unlike laminate, board is absolutely sound-free when walking on it.
Wood panels – (a lot of wood glued together lamella layers) allows the production of almost all sizes of parquet.
Engineered board dimensions:
length – from 3,0 to 8,0 m
width – from 170 to 400 mm
thickness – from 30 to 32 mm
In fact, engineered LIVI parquet board size is limited to raw size. Using the wood panels for the base, engineered board dimensions can be very different: up to 8m in length and different widths of up to 40cm with 20mm step.
For individual orders, engineered board can be manufactured in different widths, which allows you to combine and complement them with other floor coverings. Dimensional variety allows you to make connections between the boards in minimal amount. This facilitates the installation of parquet. Long boards have higher wood texture elucidation.
Special orders are also accepted according to customer’s individual requirements, for example – fixed-size boards, production of decorative inlays, parquet tenoning, etc.
Engineered board’s characteristics:
1. Unlike the mass-produced parquet, engineered LIVI parquet board is much thicker and therefore makes it possible to polish and renew it for up to 8-10 (every 5-7 years) and thus completely changes your home interior that you may be tired of.
2. Engineered board dimensions can range from 3 to 6m in length, which is much bigger than the mass-produced parquet size. This feature allows the board to be laid over the entire length of the room as massive panels.
3. Thanks to its structure, engineered board has good sound-insulation and thermal properties.
4. Engineered board can be attached directly to the lags. Connecting boards by the fillister-carve greatly facilitates the installation as well.
The industrial studio is producing the products according to a Finnish technology, manufacturing in small quantities for the designers orders. Engineered board’s length is of up to 8m, width – up to 40cm. This floor may also be laid on heated floor, as it has good thermal conductivity properties. Heat conductivity ratio is λ = 0.17 W/m2K. When producing engineered boards we devote more attention to wood, which grows in Lithuania, but at the request of the customer, we can produce flooring of any precious and solid wood.
